About Me!
My name is Charity Fitch. I live in Red Oak, Texas. I have 5 siblings, love to travel, read, drink coffee, and spend time with those I love.
I graduated from Liberty University with a major in Journalism and a minor in Graphic Design in May 2022. I currently work as a multimedia journalist at The Waxahachie Sun, covering government, businesses, nonprofits, education, events, and more for the city of Waxahachie and Ellis County in a truthful, objective and clear way.

Journalism combines my passions for people, storytelling, photography, writing and researching.
When I was 8, I received my first camera and photographed everything around me. I loved capturing emotion and memories in an image that lasts forever. Now, twelve years later, I have honed my creativity and learned the art of storytelling in an image through the Sun, my school’s yearbook, Liberty's newspaper, classes and various photoshoots.

I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, but I have always enjoyed visiting new places. From my mission trips in Romania, I learned the importance of sitting, listening and learning from those around you. I could not speak their language, so it challenged me to observe and catalog details around me. As I learned to write and research, I began to see it as another outlet to share someone’s story.

I want to be a part of a newspaper that not only is community-driven, always seeking the truth with excellence but also encourages creativity and innovation among staff. I believe our community should be our focus. I hope to bring a fresh perspective and energy into the office, constantly working, encouraging others, and seeking opportunities to grow.
