The Office of Military Affairs is celebrating the month of November as Military Appreciation Month by hosting multiple events in honor of veterans and those currently serving.

ON-CAMPUS SERVICES PROVIDE COUNSELING AND ACCOMMODATIONS FOR STUDENTS

Fatigue. Difficulty concentrating. Insomnia. Sadness. Shifts in diet. Changes in eating habits. Feelings of worthlessness
and guilt.

These are all signs of depression.

During Convocation on April 6, President Jerry Prevo announced author and leadership trainer John C. Maxwell will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Commencement on May 6.

LU Shepherd launched its fourth semester of Grace Groups, a 10-week book study for female students who are victims of sexual assault or abuse.

Around 6,000 people flocked to the Vines Center late Saturday night on Dec. 4 to attend Coffeehouse: Merry & Bright, the first in-person Christmas Coffeehouse since 2019.

NEW STATUE STANDS OUTSIDE MAIN ENTRANCE OF WILLIAMS STADIUM

Liberty University is no stranger to change, but this semester has brought a surprisingly notable one. Outside of Gate 1 of Williams Stadium, a sleek new red statue of the LU logo now stands where a statue of Liberty’s mascot, Sparky,

was once mounted.

TEAM LIBERTY RUNS IN VIRGINIA 10 MILER

AND 4 MILER

One is running to stay fit during her pregnancy. One is walking to have quality time with his daughter. All are running the Virginia 10 Miler or the Virginia 4 Miler on Sept. 25 with their entry fees paid by Liberty University.

DRONE FLIGHT POLICY CREATED FOR SAFETY

After three airplanes flying into the Lynchburg Regional Airport changed their routes to avoid collisions with drones over Liberty University’s campus, the School of Aeronautics created a drone flight policy in 2019.

HELMS SCHOOL OF GOVERNMENT PRESENTS CFAW ESSAY WINNER WITH $2,500

TOWARDS TUITION

Helms School of Government Dean Robert Hurt awarded Leanna Flick from Clayton, North Carolina a $2,500 check for the CFAW scholarship from the Helms School of Government during Friday, Nov. 9’s CFAW competition at the Hancock Welcome Center.

Below is multiplatform work I completed for several journalism classes at Liberty University. Most were group projects, but one was individual work.

THE BEAUTY OF LYNCHBURG

This multiplatform project includes a web story, video, audio, social media posts and a photo gallery. All of the work was completed by me to share about the beauty of Lynchburg. I focused on the Riverwalk Trail and Riverside Park and what they offer the community of Lynchburg. I interviewed

local residents.

This multiplatform project includes a web story, video, social media posts and a photo gallery. This was a group project. I created the website and photographed the restaurants. We wanted to share about Flames Cash offered for students and highlight three restaurants that allow students to pay

with Flames Cash.

This multiplatform project includes a web story. This was a group project. We interviewed sources together and worked together to write the story. I took all of the photos for this project. We wanted to highlight the community found through Nelson County's Farmers' Market.
