At 10 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, members gather around tables to play bingo at the Waxahachie Senior Activity Center. The room is often full of laughter and chatter as everyone vies for a winning game.

Senior center director John Smith said they typically have local sponsors who provide prizes for the winners. He explained how the sponsors also have an opportunity to speak about their company or nonprofit to the participants before bingo begins.

“It’s a great way to get involved and for them (members) to learn about something they might not otherwise have a chance to,” Smith said.
