P&Z approves assisted and senior living facility site plan

In a unanimous vote Aug. 9, the Waxahachie Planning and Zoning Commission members voted to approve the site plan for Villages of Country Lane, an assisted and senior living facility located at 110 Parks Drive.

The two-story, 79,346 square foot facility will sit on 5 acres of land and will house 165 mixed units, including independent senior living (78 units), assisted living (59 units) and memory care (28 beds).

The facility will also include a variety of amenities, including four outdoor courtyards and a pool for residents. The facility plans to have a restaurant, fitness center, yoga studio, theater, game room, salons and other activity spaces. A dog park is planned to be built outside the facility as well. Commissioners were asked to vote between two exterior design options and unanimously voted for option two, which includes a combination of natural stone and gray board and batten siding.
