During its Jan. 10 meeting, the Waxahachie Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved a specific use permit that would bring a second Chick-fil-A to Waxahachie, located at 3380 S. Interstate 35E, near Farm-to-Market 66.

The new Chick-fil-A will have a 5,500 square-foot restaurant, 56 parking spaces and two stacking drive-through lanes that hold 25 spaces.

The restaurant is anticipated to have 60 employees and to operate from 6 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Phil Browne will be the location’s operator.

“I came here today to tell you how excited we are to open up this location,” said Getra Sanders, who works for Chick-fil-A corporate. A part of the specific use permit was a request for a 75-foot-pole sign, which is the same height as the nearby McDonald’s. Originally, the application said the pole would be wrapped in masonry, but after discussion between the commission and Chick-fil-A, it was decided to allow the pole to be the company’s typical red metal.

Commissioners were asked to vote between two exterior design options and unanimously voted for option one, which is a completely brick veneer with two colors: light gray (primary color) and white (accent color).

The matter will be presented to the city council for approval during an upcoming meeting. Originally published January 12, 2023 - https://www.waxahachiesun.com/business/second-chick-fil-a-to-come-to-waxahachie/article_39396b5a-92f5-11ed-b097-3b2a38576b7d.html
