The Waxahachie Farmers Market 2022 season set a new sales record of $290,291, surpassing the previous year’s record by almost 13%.

Running from May 7 to Oct. 22 for a total 25 weeks, it passed the 2021 26-week season’s record of $257,352 with one less week in the market season.

Along with the total sales record, May broke two other sales record with it being the highest sales month with $60,646 and making over $21,000 on its grand-opening May 7.

As many as 44 vendors were on hand at the market each Saturday throughout the season. “The vendors and I would like to thank the community for the continued support and the dedication to shopping local,” Anita Simpson, downtown development director, said.

The regular season has ended, but an extended season will begin Nov. 5, with hours of operation from 9 a.m.-noon, at the same location at 701 Howard Road.

Announced on the Downtown Waxahachie Farmers Market Facebook, the extended season will include about 20 vendors from the regular season. It will run every Saturday in November and on Dec. 3,10 and 17.
